Merkao is a platform that connects brands with creative agencies to manage complex digital projects, from discovery to delivery. Our task was to design a unified, high-performing UX system that powers agency matching, project execution, and admin oversight, all within one seamless platform.

Challenge‍

Merkao needed more than just a dashboard, it needed a control center. With multiple user roles (clients, agencies, admins), the product had to feel simple on the surface but powerful under the hood. The main challenges:

• Match clients with the right agencies using a smart algorithm
• Support real-time chat, project timelines, task tracking, and payments
• Allow admins to monitor disputes, financials, and platform health with clarity
• Maintain a visual system that feels modern but is functionally dense

Solution

1. A Dashboard Built for Action

We designed a dynamic dashboard that gives users a real-time overview of their entire ecosystem—projects, matches, spending, and more—all on one screen. It’s optimized for clarity, with color-coded indicators and interactive charts to reduce noise and guide focus.

2. Real-Time Messaging & Collaboration

Communication is critical when creative teams collaborate. We created a Slack-inspired messaging hub where users can chat in real time, upload files, manage threads, and keep discussions organized by channels. From project-specific chatrooms to admin-level message monitoring, the system allows full control while keeping the user experience seamless.

3. Full-Cycle Project Management

From kickoff to delivery, the platform manages projects at every level. Users can track task progress, milestone completions, budgets, and assignments, all through a clear visual interface.

We introduced dynamic progress indicators, dispute management access, and detailed task breakdowns, all integrated without overwhelming the user.

4. Smart Agency Matching & Proposal Handling

We designed a matching flow that feels more like a curated talent marketplace than a basic listing. Clients receive intelligent matches, explore agency profiles, and manage proposals—all from one streamlined interface.

The UX supports rapid comparisons and smart filtering, speeding up the decision process without sacrificing quality.

5. Admin Panel for Oversight & Control

The admin experience was designed as a mission control center. From user verification to financial tracking, we built systems that prioritize visibility and scalability.

We also implemented role-based permissions, dispute handling tools, and a data-rich environment for reporting and auditing, all without clutter.
